PROJECTS & PLANNING

The Erie MetroParks staff and operations team are always working on a number of projects to help improve the park district. We want to connect people with nature and better the quality of life here in Erie County. We recently finished building the Roger Johnson Nature Center and our now our energy is turned towards the future.

In 2024, Erie MetroParks formed a planning committee to engage the community and solicit ideas for the future. We collected almost 1,000 unique suggestions and ideas from both in-person and online efforts. The community’s feedback guided the District’s 2025-2030 five-year strategic plan.
