April is Citizen Science Month and we are hosting the Erie MetroParks Citizen Science Month Challenge!

The challenge will take place from APRIL 1 through APRIL 30. Erie MetroParks is challenging you to contribute to citizen science within the Erie MetroParks. You will use iNaturalist to record as many wildlife observations that you can throughout the month of April. This can be anything from birds and mammals to plants and fungi!

The person that submits the most qualifying observations will win a naturalist bundle, which includes a backpack, a pair of binoculars, and some wildlife guides. Three additional winners will be drawn randomly from all that register and submit at least five observations. Erie MetroParks personnel and family-members are not eligible for prizes.

Pre-registration begins March 18. The challenge begins April 1 and ends April 30. More details will be provided upon registration. Please be sure to include your iNaturalist username in the notes when registering. You can join the Erie MetroParks iNaturalist Project by clicking HERE. Good luck.

Download the iNaturalist app and get ready to explore. With this app you will be able to identify almost any plant or animal species.
