Castalia Quarry MetroPark
Offering a panoramic view of Sandusky Bay and the Lake Erie Islands from the observation deck, the rugged, yet beautiful terrain of this 152-acre park is home to about 240 species of native plants, including some that are rare or threatened. You will also find fossils that date back 400 million years and glacial grooves! Since quarrying efforts ended in 1965, this once barren site is returning to a natural state.
